When it comes to making money, your next client could be closer than you think. While you may think that trying to make money off your friends would be awkward, you'd be surprised to find that most of your friends will be willing to pay you for your services. If you're looking for ideas to make money off your friends, here are a few of my favorites.

For the star student:

If you're a strong student, you may be able to help your friends with their schoolwork. Whether it's editing essays or teaching them your note-taking strategies, you can charge small fees for helping them with these small tasks and make a significant amount of money.

For the artist:

As an artist, you can make a lot of money by taking commissions from your friends. Painting portraits for them to give as gifts or creating personalized clothing are great ways to make items that they will love and for which they'll be willing to pay!

For the neat freak:

We all have clutter, but some of us are better than others at eliminating it. If you are blessed with the clean gene, you may find that your friends are eager to let you take a whack at their closet or desk and give you some cash in exchange!

For the shopaholic:

Although you may be the first to jump at a good sale and match the newest trends, tons of kids simply hate shopping. Acting as a low-budget personal shopper for your friends is a great way to have fun, check out the newest trends, and finance your shopping addiction!

For anyone:

Another simple way to make money off your friends is through referrals. Most companies will offer a referral program that will pay you, in either cash or points, when your friends sign up to use their services. Whether it's Uber, Evernote, or something in between, referral programs are too easy to ignore!
