Are you interested in computers? Starting your own business? Working in the healthcare field? This summer, rising 9th–11th graders can earn 0.5 high school credit while exploring the wide variety of high-demand careers in one these tuition-free online summer school courses:
- Business and Marketing Explorations

- Information Technology Explorations
Our online career exploration courses begin on June 24, 2020, and must be completed by July 22, 2020.
Learn to Code this Summer
Have you ever wanted to design a video game or program and build your own virtual reality world? Learn how this summer at one of our tuition-free online summer camps. If you are a rising 8th–11th grader, you can sign up for one or both two-week summer programs:
June 15–June 25 — Video Game Design and Programing
Campers are introduced to the basics of coding through sports! In this block-coding bootcamp, campers develop their own sports video games and simulations using code. Throughout the camp, they build different sports visualizations and multi-level games that can be played with friends.
All campers will have the opportunity to compete in an eSports tournament that will take place on or about July 20, 2020.

Tuition-Free Online Career Exploration Courses FAQs
When do classes start?
Students can begin their online course on June 24, 2020.
How long is each class?
You should plan on spending two hours a day for 20 days to complete the coursework by the July 22, 2020, course end date.
How do I contact my teacher?
The course is designed to be self-directed. If you have a question, you can contact your teacher online, and they will respond within 24 hours, Monday through Friday, 9 AM–3 PM (ET).
Are these classes for credit?
Yes, you can receive 0.5 high school elective credit from the accredited K12 International Academy if you complete the career exploration course by July 22, 2020.
Once you have completed the course, you can request a transcript from K12 International Academy and submit it to your school.
Who is eligible to participate?
If you are a rising 9th–11th grader, you can enroll in one of the tuition-free career explorations courses.
How many career exploration courses can I sign up for?
Rising 9th–11th graders can sign up for one tuition-free online career exploration course. In addition, rising 8th–11th can sign up for both the Video Game Design and Programing and the Virtual Reality tuition-free online summer camps.
Are there limits on the number of people who can participate?
Yes, we currently have capacity for 200 students in each tuition-free career exploration course and 500 students in each coding camp.
How do I get started?
Tuition-Free Online Summer Camp FAQs
How often does each session meet?
Campers meet for 60–90-minutes twice a day, Monday–Friday. In the morning session, campers learn about game design and development. In the afternoon session, campers develop the skills and strategies needed to compete in eSports tournaments.
What games are will I be able to compete in during the tournament?
Campers who attend either the Video Game Design and Programing or the Virtual Reality online summer camp will have the opportunity to participate in a Smash Bros, Fortnite, or Rocket League eSport tournament on or around July 20. The tournament will provide the licenses for the games.
Do I need a game console?
Yes, you will need a game console to practice strategies taught during the camp and to participate in the tournament.

If you are a rising 8th–11th grader, you can sign up for one or both tuition-free online summer camps.
How many coding camps can I sign up for?
Rising 8th–11th can sign up for both the Video Game Design and Programing and the Virtual Reality tuition-free online summer camps. In addition, rising 9th–11th graders can sign up for one tuition-free online career exploration course.
Are there limits on the number of people who can sign up for the coding camps?
Yes, we currently have capacity 500 students in each coding camp, and 200 students in each tuition-free career exploration course.
How do I sign up?
